This book by far is now my new favorite. I was intrigued when I first saw this in the library because of the cover, but after I picked it up and read the synopsis, I wasn't quite sure I would like it. It sounds a little weird, but it was one of the best books I have ever read.
In Seven Tears Into the Sea, a girl, Gwen, sees a man she thinks is about to drown in the ocean. At this time in her life, she is ten years old. She cries seven tears into the sea, and the man turns around and rescues her as she herself is about to drown. Rumors spread around town that Gwen was either molested or just sleepwalking. Everyone pityed her. Now, seven years later, Gwen is coming back to the place of her childhood. While there, she meets yet again the man who rescued her from the sea's hands. His name is Jessie, and he claims to be her selkie, a sea otter that can turn into a human. She believes in her heart that he is a selkie and that they are destined to be together, but her head just can't comprehend it. As the story progresses, Gwen realizes that she is in love with Jesse, but when the time comes to let him go, will she be able to?
This was a romance novel that I will never forget. I will probably reread this book over and over again, and I have only once reread a book. That is how amazing this book was. I know that a selkie, a sea otter turning into a man, is a weird base for a story, but it proved otherwise. I reccomend this book to everyone, whether you like romance or fantasy or not. It was another book that I just could not put down.
